Panasonic's GH5s masters the dark, specializes for filmmaker in mind!
In CES2018, Panasonic is proud to introduce its new the ultimate hybird mirrorless camera, the Lumix GH5s. With expanded 4K video recording capacibility, enhanced image quality in low-light as well as removed in-body stabilization, every change in the GH5s is aimed to making it a better video cinema, targeting to professional filmmakers.
How Panasonic has made this great camera?

The biggest change in the GH5s is the new "duo ISO" 10.2 MP sensor with a 400 native ISO and a 2,500 native ISO, offers better image quality in low light environment. Panasonic said that users can get up to ISO 51200 native "with minimal noise" and up to ISO 204800 when extended ISO is applied. During the demo at CES2018, even at 12,800 ISO, the image held saturation and contrast in the way that handily bested Sony's low-light champ, the A7S II.

In addition, this sensor is a multi-aspect type that can realize the same angle of view at the same focal length in 4:3,17:9,16:9 and 3:2 aspect ratios. The sensor also achieves 14-bit RAW format in stills, providing higher flexibility for professional RAW development workflows.
The world first 4K, 60fps mirrorless camera!
The GH5s features strong advance in high sensitive, so you can record video 4K resolution (2160 x 4096) at 30 or up to 60 frame per second - the world first for a professional mirrorless camera (A7Sii supports cinema 4K at 30 fps). It's also got impressive internal recording capabilities, taking down 10-bit 4:2:2 footage at date rates of up to 400 Mbps (50 MB/s).
Besides, there’s pre-installed V-LogL software for color grading, better support for professional mics, and time code in and out to help sync footage from multiple cameras. Panasonic made senses that all new features supported for videographers.

Take away in-body stabilization!
The best thing that GH5s has stolen my heart is the removal of the in-body stabilization (IBS) which is integrated in its close competition A7Sii as well as its brother GH5. Limitedly, the sensor is not locked in place even the IBS in camera is off. For high-end video shooting, the combination with gimbal, dollies, crane... is inevitable and the internal stabilization of camera could risks sensor shaking around when mounting with professional gear, finally which you have is awful footage. GH5 is the typical witness for that, you hardly find out aerial or carmout... footage even it debuted over 1 year.
So, GH5s is not really a direct upgrade to the well-respected GH5, prefer to professional cinematographers. We'll have more on the GH5s before it is available to pre-order in February at $2,499 (body only). Until then, enjoy these close-ups while you think about whether or not you want to spend your money on it.
